Immediately after registering on TikTok, the user profile is available for viewing by everyone, until it is manually made private. It is enough to swipe left on the screen while watching the video or click on the avatar to go to the author’s page. Therefore, many are interested in how to see their visitors and whether this can be done in principle. Let’s find out if there are guests on Tik Tok.
Manual
I would like to point out right away: the mobile application is designed in such a way that it does not show exactly which users watched the author’s video and went to his profile. The statistics only show the total number of views and visitors. This means that you cannot directly find out who was visiting on your page. But there are several indirect signs of how to calculate specific users.
First, we will deal with these signs, then we will move on to viewing general user statistics, and at the end of the article we will mention privacy settings that may be useful to you.
Definition by indirect signs
In principle, everything is quite simple. If some user saw your video or went to your profile, then he can leave a like, write a comment or subscribe. As a result, the corresponding notification will be displayed in the mobile application. You can see it in the Inbox tab.
Of course, this method is not very useful, because many people can open your profile and do nothing, then the system will not mark them in any way. But this approach is also understandable, because TikTok protects the privacy of its users and does not disclose detailed information on views and visits.
View general statistics
As we said before, the official TikTok statistics show how many visitors have been on your profile lately. Find out this information as follows:
- Launch the mobile app.
- Go to the profile tab using the bottom bar.
- Tap the stripes icon to go to the settings page.
- Next, visit Author Tools.
- Open Analytics.
- Enable information display if needed.
The “Overview” tab has a “Engagement” block. Here we are interested in the “Profile Views” column. But note that by default, statistics for the last 7 days are displayed. You can check the time period at the top of the page.
Privacy settings
If you want to hide some information from the guests of your profile, then this can be done without any problems using the privacy settings added to the mobile application. Let’s understand this procedure.
Step-by-step instruction:
- Visit the settings page as described in “Viewing General Statistics”.
- Open Privacy.
- Customize everything to your liking.
Now let’s take a quick look at the proposed options:
- Private account – only subscribers will be able to view your profile, and videos will no longer be recommended to other users.
- Recommend your account to others– by default, TikTok will advise your friends to follow you. But this can be disabled.
- Downloads– prohibits downloading published videos.
- Comments – disable the commenting function.
- Mentions – the same, but with profile mentions.
- Duets– Turns off shooting duets.
- Stitching– disables the function of the same name.
- Subscriptions– display your subscriptions.
- Liked Videos– Displays a page with videos you have liked.
- Private Messages– Restriction of sending messages.
- Banned Accounts – View a list of users you have blacklisted.
Summing up
Unfortunately, the user will not be able to directly find out who visited his profile, because TikTok hides this information for security reasons. But on the other hand, you can see the total number of guests, and some of them can be calculated by indirect signs. It will also be useful to know that personal information from the profile can be partially or completely hidden from others using the privacy settings in the mobile application.
